Welcome to my little BlogTown. Can’t wait to connect with all sorts of people whose lives are running circles around them, too! If you know me, thanks for coming! I can’t guarantee you’ll still want to be associated with me afterwards, but here’s to hoping! If you don’t know me, head over to the about this mom page.
What do all bloggers want?! FOLLOWERS. So, I thought I’d jump start this blog with a giveaway. Amazing how many people you can snag with one- even if you’re giving away germs! So, if you did your homework and read the “about this mom” page, you know I run RVA’s Moms RUN This Town chapter. I’m working to get the mommas around me to be my friends and to RUN. If you want in our elite group and live in/around Richmond, check out our blog HERE. Anyway, the wonderful people at Pro Compression sent me a pair of their marathon compression socks. If I reviewed them, I could give another pair away to a lucky runner. So, here we go…
Sidebar- Ignore my pastiness please. I’m no expert runner, but I am running my first half marathon this weekend (on my 30th birthday YIKES). Because of this increase in training, I’ve had an increase in OUCH moments. You know the feeling, right at the point of no return in your running loop and all of the sudden your calves feel like a drawstring that someone just decided to tighten. Or you get home and try to teach the dog how to fetch everything you need upstairs because the thought of going up there on your own is just too much. Did I mention this first half is the Charlottesville Half Marathon? Way to pick a flat course for your first half, I know. Needless to say, hill training has been my arch nemesis. Thanks to a friend who told me to name the hills I run so I can silently scream at them while going up, it has helped. But, sorry Courtney, I think my compression socks helped just as much. I’m not going to say these are the magical “potion” to fix all the before mentioned OUCH moments, but I will say these have given me WAY less of those moments to share with you. I have been putting them on for about 2 hours after each run and have been pleasantly surprised at how I feel the next day. I always thought my husband should just save money and go buy little boy’s socks- wouldn’t they be tight enough? But, these are the real deal. You see so many runners wearing them because they WORK. I plan on wearing them this Saturday AND screaming at those hills.
Maybe you can help me with my cons for this sock. Are they too hot to run in for warm months? I already sweat like crazy and do not need an added sweat factor, but they make me feel so good I don’t want to give them up. Do they make compression socks with ice packs in them? Also, I am VERY grateful for being sent free socks at all, but I wish I had a bright colored one- guess I’ll be ordering PS- Love this guy…
